Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23: The Everyday Choice for Support & Stability

The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23 is a welcome update to a proven favourite shoe. Because the Adrenaline GTS is such a popular shoe, the newest version has stayed true to its original design, while introducing smart enhancements for added comfort, stability, and overall foot health.

Overview of the Adrenaline GTS 23

As a runner who has long relied on shoes with pronation support, I was excited to test the GTS 23 and see how they’ve changed. When you lace up the shoes, your feet feel secure and locked in place, surrounded by a new, engineered 3d fit print mesh upper, which is flexible and durable.

The GuideRails® technology adds support by keeping excess movement in check, only helping out if the foot rolls against them. This keeps you in your natural stride, even as you start to tire.

The midsole now maintains a consistent density with less shaping inside the arch of the shoe, prompting your feet to move more naturally and work within the shoe, allowing the feet to grow stronger over time.

What's New?

Compared to the previous version, the GTS 23 incorporates a lighter DNA LOFT v2 midsole cushioning, giving you a responsive ride with a nice bounce. This upgrade makes for a slightly more plush and comfortable feel, but overall it maintains a firm feel in the rearfoot and forefront, helping to provide stability. The increased padding around the heel cup provides a nice level of comfort.

The toe box has been modified to be straighter, it feels more roomy and allows the toes to spread better on impact, providing better balance and reduced pronation.

The shoe boasts a 12mm drop, which is on the larger side, and is noticeable when running, making it a good choice for heel strikers. I didn’t get too much forward momentum from the heel drop, compared to other shoes like the On CloudFlow 4.

Your Everyday Training Companion

The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23 remains a top choice if you're looking for mild to moderate overpronation support. It combines a firm and responsive feel with gentle cushioning, making it suitable for daily runs, from easy morning jogs to weekend long runs. The GTS 23 feels versatile enough to also handle faster-paced runs.

The stylish look and nice range of colours is a nice bonus, too.
